Tree Description

The Shumard Oak is a strong, fast-growing native shade tree known for its beautiful fall color, durability, and impressive size. This member of the red oak family develops a tall, straight trunk and a broad canopy, making it an excellent long-term shade tree for yards, parks, and large landscapes.

During the growing season, the tree features deep green, glossy leaves that provide dense shade. In fall, the foliage turns brilliant shades of red and orange, creating a striking seasonal display. As it matures, the tree produces acorns that support wildlife and add to its natural appeal.

These 15-gallon trees establish quickly and grow into a long-lived shade tree, making them a great choice for homeowners wanting a durable and beautiful native oak.
