Tree Description

The Tulip Poplar, also known as the Tulip Tree, is one of the tallest native hardwood trees in North America and is prized for its rapid growth, beautiful flowers, and impressive size. In late spring, the tree produces distinctive tulip-shaped green and yellow flowers high in the canopy, giving the tree its common name.

Its uniquely shaped leaves and strong, straight trunk create a tall, elegant shade tree that becomes a dominant feature in the landscape. Tulip poplars are also important for wildlife, providing nectar for pollinators and habitat for many native species.

These 15-gallon trees establish quickly and grow rapidly, making them an excellent choice for homeowners looking to plant a large, long-lived shade tree.
