Tree Description

The Presidential Gold® Ginkgo is a strong, long-lived shade tree known for its upright form, durability, and spectacular golden fall color. This improved male selection develops a well-structured canopy with strong branching, making it an excellent long-term landscape tree.

During the growing season, the tree features distinctive fan-shaped green leaves that create a unique texture in the landscape. In autumn, the foliage turns a brilliant golden yellow, often creating one of the most striking fall displays of any shade tree.

Because this is a male selection, it does not produce the messy fruit associated with female ginkgo trees, making it a clean and low-maintenance choice for yards and landscapes.

These 15-gallon trees establish quickly and grow into a durable shade tree, making them a great choice for homeowners looking for a beautiful tree that will thrive for generations.

Sun Requirements

• Full sun (6–8+ hours daily)

• Prefers well-drained soil but tolerates a wide range of conditions
• Apply a balanced tree fertilizer in early spring if desired
• Maintain 2–3 inches of mulch around the base to conserve moisture and protect roots
