Tree Description

The Oklahoma Sparkler® Redbud is a striking ornamental tree prized for its brilliant spring flowers and compact, elegant form. In early spring, the bare branches become covered with vivid pink-purple blossoms, creating one of the most eye-catching displays in the landscape.

This variety is a selection of the Texas redbud, known for its excellent heat tolerance and glossy, thick leaves that hold up well through summer. After the spring bloom, the tree develops attractive heart-shaped foliage that provides a soft, ornamental canopy.

These 15-gallon trees provide an excellent landscape starting size, establishing quickly and creating a beautiful ornamental focal point in yards, gardens, and naturalized plantings.

• Full sun to partial shade
• Best flowering occurs with at least 5–6 hours of sunlight

• Typically 10–15 gallons once or twice per week depending on rainfall and temperature
• Once established, trees are fairly drought tolerant

Soil & Nutrition

• A balanced tree fertilizer in early spring can encourage healthy growth
