Tree Description

The Moonglow Pear is a dependable European pear variety known for its excellent flavor, smooth texture, and strong disease resistance. The fruit is medium to large with greenish-yellow skin often lightly blushed with red, and the flesh is soft, juicy, and sweet when fully ripened.

This variety was developed for improved resistance to fire blight, making it a reliable pear for humid regions like central Missouri. Moonglow pears typically ripen in late summer (around August) and are excellent for fresh eating, desserts, and preserving.

These trees are grown as standard pear trees, meaning they develop into a larger, full-size orchard tree with strong vigor and long-term production potential. With proper care, trees can often begin producing fruit within about 3–5 years after planting.
