Redpointe® Maple — 30 Gallon
(Acer rubrum × Acer saccharinum ‘Redpointe’)

Tree Description
The Redpointe® Maple is one of the best modern shade trees for landscapes in the Midwest. This fast-growing hybrid maple combines the strong branching structure of a red maple with the rapid growth and adaptability of a silver maple. The result is a uniform, upright oval tree that develops a strong central leader and dense canopy—making it an excellent choice for shade, street plantings, and front yards.
In fall, Redpointe® truly shines with brilliant scarlet-red foliage that stands out across the landscape. It tolerates a wide range of soils and urban conditions and establishes quickly after planting. A 30-gallon tree is already a substantial landscape specimen, typically around 10–12 feet tall, and can begin providing meaningful shade within just a few growing seasons.
Sun Requirements
• Full sun is best (6+ hours daily)
• Tolerates light partial shade but develops the best canopy in full sun
Water Requirements
• Water deeply after planting to establish roots
• During the first year: about 10–15 gallons once or twice per week depending on rainfall and heat
• Once established, Redpointe Maples are moderately drought tolerant
Soil & Nutrition
• Adaptable to many soil types including clay soils common in central Missouri
• Prefers well-drained soil but tolerates periodic moisture
• Apply a slow-release tree fertilizer in early spring if desired
• A layer of mulch helps maintain moisture and protect roots

• Growth rate: Fast
